For the first time ever we’re expanding our offerings to include summer internship opportunities for students in High School and College.

Our interns will work alongside industry professionals as they learn the ins and outs of running a show from the production side of the table. This years internship will coincide with our 2023 Summer Camp Production of Aristocats Kids.

Summer Internships

What:

Stage Center’s School of the Performing Arts has been providing summer camps for Shreveport/Bossier students for the past 10 years. As our program continues to grow and expand we are now offering internship and volunteer opportunities for students in High School and College. Our Summer Camps combine the best of our skills and performance classes and our new internship program will allow students to also experience camp from the production team side. Our interns will work on our 2023 Production Aristocat Kids along side Camp Directors Liesl Cruz & Lauren Treme. When:

Summer Camp is a total of 2 weeks:
Weeks of July 17th & July 28th. Camp Runs M-F from 9:00am – 11:00am
Performances scheduled for Saturday July 29th at 6:00pm and Sunday July 30th at 2:00pm. (Call 1 hour before)
An audition workshop will be held on June 24th 9:00am-12:00pm

Who:

We are looking for Interns and Camp Volunteers

Interns: Student Director, Student Choreographer, Student Music Director:

Interns will work directly with our camp directors on all aspects of the production. Interns will also help develop and teach our mini intensives in their area of interest. Interns must be entering their junior year of high school or older and must have some experience working with children. (This experience could be anything from babysitting to volunteering as a tutor or at another camp—or maybe you have lots of younger siblings or cousins!)

Interns must be able to commit to the entire 2 weeks of camp, both performances, the audition workshop, and 2 production meetings, date and time of meetings will be determined by interns and directors schedule. Interns will receive a small stipend of $250.

Summer Camp volunteers must be entering their sophomore year of high school or older and should have interest in working with children. Volunteers must commit to the entire 2 weeks of camp but do not need to commit to the 2 performances, although they are welcome to help backstage. Volunteers may receive service hours if desired.

 

Applications for Interns will be accepted until April 30, 2023. After reviewing all eligible applicants our camp directors will make decisions and present Intern Offers on or before May 15th, 2023

Applications for camp volunteers will be accepted until May 15, 2023. Applications will be considered as they come in, and spots will be filled as qualified applicants apply. Volunteer spots may fill before the deadline.
