Our interns will work alongside industry professionals as they learn the ins and outs of running a show or teaching a class. We kicked off our internship program with our 2023 Summer Camp Production of Aristocats Kids and are excited to announce opportunities to work with our Triple Threat levels 1 & 2 and our Fall Production class Anastasia.

Internships and Volunteer Positions

What:
Stage Center’s School of the Performing Arts has been providing skills based training to Shreveport/Bossier students for the past 10 years. As our program continues to grow and expand we are now offering internship and volunteer opportunites for students in High School. Our Triple Threat and Production classes provide students with a wealth of experience in everything it takes to become a great performer. Our new internship program will allow high school students to explore sharing their love of theater with younger students and peers in a new way. Our 2023/2024 school year will include internships for working with with Triple Threat levels 1 & 2 as well as a student choreographer internship for (Anastasia Youth Edition.) When:
Triple Threat Levels 1 & 2 meet for 12 weeks in the Fall and 12 weeks in the Spring form 9:00-10:30am starting August 19th.

Who:
We are looking for Interns and Class Volunteers
Triple Threat Interns: Interns will work directly with our triple threat class staff helping ensure student engagement and retention of materials taught. Interns will also help develop and teach one or more lessons in the skill they are most comfortable/interested in. Interns must be entering their junior year of high school or older and must have some experience working with children. (This experience could be anything from babysitting to volunteering as a tutor or at another camp—or maybe you have lots of younger siblings or cousins!) Interns must be able to commit to the entire 12 weeks of classes and will receive a 50% discount on their class tuition.
Triple Threat volunteers must be entering their Freshman year of high school or older and should have interest in working with children. Volunteers must commit to the entire 12 weeks of class and will assist with sign-in/sign out as well as classroom management/engagement. Volunteers will receive community hours for their Ame.
Student Choreographer Anastasia Youth Edition: Our Student Choreographer will report to our staff choreographer. Under the staff choreographer’s direction the intern will help create and teach choreography for our youngest group of students while also acting as a dance captain for the production. Our Student Choreographer intern is encouraged to audition and the internship will not limit the roles they are considered for. Alongside your application, please submit a video of 4-6, 8 counts of original choreography to a Broadway song of your choice.
Applications for Interns will be accepted until August 11, 2023. After reviewing all eligible applicants our camp directors will make decisions and present Intern Offers on or before August 12th, 2023. Volunteer applications will be considered as they come in and spots will be filled as qualified applicants apply and may fill before the deadline
