Believe All Ogre Again.
Modeled after the Junior Theater Festival Experience, our Camp Production is designed to blend our skills-based and performance classes. Not only do students work on a JR. (1hr) or Kids (30min) length production (minus the technical elements) they also receive intensives in acting, singing, and dancing at camp. With only the tools of the actor (imagination, body, voice) our camp productions are performed in the great tradition of Shakespeare’s Old Globe, using nothing but a bare stage, simple lighting, and teamwork to effectively tell a great story.
Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical KIDS, based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek KIDS is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON OUR CORE VALUES: Before enrolling in our summer camp, please consider the following…
**You are agreeing to commit your child to the camp’s production and schedule. At Stage Center’s SoPA we believe that a good process begets a good product. Every enrolled student will be required to audition as a part of this process. The audition is for the instructors to assess each student’s skill-level and vocal/physical type so that they can be placed in the role that best serves the production and our educational goals. We do not cast based on seniority within the company, nor do we pre-cast any role on student productions. The cast list will be posted before the start of camp. We are not interested in working with students and families who are only seeking leading or featured roles. All students interested in our camps and classes are taught to show up with open minds and hearts, eager to have a life-enriching experience. We teach that theater is about an ensemble coming together to tell a story, and every person involved has a vital role for its success. No absences are allowed during our two weeks of camp. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED TO STUDENTS WHO WITHDRAW AFTER COMPLETING ENROLLMENT. A $30.00 late fee will be added to any invoice not paid by the due date.
Saturday, July 11 – Parent Orientation Packets will be available | Audition workshop for enrolled & waitlisted students: 10:00am-11:00am (3rd-5th,) 11:00am-12:30pm-ish (6th – 8th)

Born in Monroe, LA, she began performing at Strauss Youth Academy at age six and went on to train and perform with Twin City Ballet, CA Studios, and other professional companies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and continues to work professionally on stage and screen, bringing that experience into her work with students of all ages, from children to college performers.
Recent directing and choreography work includes Stage Center’s Winnie the Pooh Kids and Centenary College’s The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), as well as Stage Center productions Aladdin Kids, Jungle Book Kids, Six: Teen Edition, and Seussical Kids. She also teaches dance and tap at Stage Center and runs Paralleled Studios, where she provides private lessons in acting and dance.

Taylor began her teaching career in 2018 and adores teaching students of all ages.
