If you can handle the truth, get ready for Aaron Sorkin’s electrifying original Broadway hit that became the legendary Oscar-nominated film starring Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise. A FEW GOOD MEN sizzles onstage with the story of a group of military lawyers assigned to defend two Marines in Guantanamo Bay. During the course of the trial, they uncover a high-level conspiracy designed to eliminate weaker soldiers in the name of patriotism, putting the military mentality and the Marine code of honor on trial.

ABOUT Disney’s NEWSIES
Opened: July 18, 2019
Closed: July 21, 2019
Location: Marjorie Lyons Playhouse
Nominated for 8 Tony® Awards, including BEST MUSICAL.
Disney’s NEWSIES, based on the 1992 motion picture, is the rousing turn-of-the-century tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged “newsies,” who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when publishing titans Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies newsies from across the city to strike for what’s right. Newsies is inspired by the real-life “Newsboy Strike of 1899,” when newsboy Kid Blink led a band of orphan and runaway newsies on a two-week-long action against Pulitzer, Hearst and other powerful newspaper publishers. Timely and fresh, the fictionalized adaptation of Newsies addresses age-old themes of social injustice, exploitative labor practices and David-versus-Goliath struggles as the young learn to harness their power against a corrupt establishment. High-energy with non-stop thrills, the stage version introduces eight brand-new songs by the original team of Menken and Feldman while keeping many of the beloved songs from the film, including “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” “King of New York” and “Santa Fe.”

ABOUT A STEADY RAIN
Opened: August 9, 2019
Closed: August 11, 2019
Location: Marjorie Lyons Playhouse
A dark duologue filled with sharp storytelling and biting repartee, A Steady Rain explores the complexities of a lifelong bond tainted by domestic affairs, violence, and the rough streets of Chicago. Joey and Denny have been best friends since kindergarten, and after working together for several years as policemen in Chicago, they are practically family: Joey helps out with Denny’s wife and kids; Denny keeps Joey away from the bottle. But when a domestic disturbance call takes a turn for the worse, their friendship is put on the line. The result is a harrowing journey into a moral gray area where trust and loyalty struggle for survival against a sobering backdrop of pimps, prostitutes, and criminal lowlifes.

Winner of the TONY® “TRIPLE CROWN” for BEST MUSICAL, BEST SCORE and BEST BOOK, and BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND since we first produced it in our 2013 season, AVENUE Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. It is a gut-bustingly hilarious modern musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named PRINCETON who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q, a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good and life lessons are learned. He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.
